Leatham asked Haynes to marry him in March 2017 in an elaborate proposal including help from Cher, Serena Willaims and Melanie Griffith. Haynes proposed back in May of the same year. The two married in October 2017 in a huge wedding officiated by Kris Jenner. Their wedding included guests such as Sofia Vergara, Joe Manganiello, Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Billie Lourd.

Despite an intense amount of affection over social media, just six months later, they officially decided to go their separate ways in May 2018. Reports suggested it was Haynes’ mother’s death that changed the actor’s perceptions about his friendships and relationships.

In a blink of an eye and the glance of a soulmates eye (and the tap of a Louis Vuitton bag on your back lol) your life can change forever, the clouds part and you see the moon and stars as you have only dreamt of them – but then you realize this is exactly the way life is to be and you thank God for that moment, because your life has changed forever. – Not everyday is easy BUT everyday is worth it – EVER THINE – EVER MINE – EVER OURS – @coltonlhaynes ❤️❤️❤️- #WhatMoviesaremadeof

A little while after rumors of a split started, Haynes released his first demo, Man It Sucks, the lyrics of which included, “Man it sucks / and I don’t like / when you’re staying out all / night / and never answer your phone / I follow you around the world / just to feel left alone.” The song immediately launched speculations that the split was a result of Leatham cheating on Haynes, which the latter took to Twitter to clear up immediately.

On Wednesday, the two were spotted at the airport together in Los Angeles and reports suggest that they are considering a reconciliation. A source told E!, “Colton and Jeff got off a flight together at LAX. They were returning from Vancouver where they celebrated Colton’s birthday over the weekend. Colton is filming Arrow and Jeff was visiting him. It definitely seemed like they had reunited at least for the weekend.

According to onlookers, the two travelled together the whole time, but separated every time they saw photographers since they did not want to put any pressure on their rekindled relationship. The source added, “Friends say Colton has been struggling greatly with grief since this loss of his mother earlier this year, however Jeff and Colton have remained in touch off and on since their split. Friends say Colton’s mother’s surprising death put the couple’s marriage in turmoil just months after the marriage, leading to Colton to end things.

According to the insider, Haynes’ friends think the loss of his mother caused him to freak out about his marriage and “impulsively ended things with Jeff too soon as a result of his grief and is now considering reconciling.

Neither Haynes nor Leatham have taken to social media to suggest any kind of reconciliation.
